Privacy policy

Last updated 15 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Eden Group collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to www.edengroup.co.nz, to enquiries you send us through it, and to enquiries you send us through a form inside a Facebook or Instagram advertisement.

We handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we also give you the rights set out in the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and this policy tells you how to use them.

Who we are

Eden Group is an Auckland residential property developer. We build and sell our own homes, so when you enquire you are dealing with us directly and not with an agency.

For anything to do with your personal information, contact james@eigl.co.nz or call 027 291 4827. We are based in Auckland, New Zealand.

What we collect

What you give us

When you fill in the enquiry form we collect your first and last name, your email address, your phone number, the budget range and purchase timeframe you select, the development you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field.

If you call or email us instead, we keep a record of that conversation and any details you give us in it.

What we collect automatically

When you browse the site we collect, through the services listed further down:

  • pages you visit on this site, when, and in what order
  • which site or advertisement you arrived from
  • the campaign tags in the link you clicked, if you came from an advertisement or an email
  • the advertising click identifier Google or Meta adds to that link
  • your approximate location, worked out from your IP address at city level
  • your device type, browser and screen size

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not ask for them. We also do not knowingly collect information from children.

Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site sets the following.

Cookie
Set by, and what for
How long
hubspotutk
HubSpot. Recognises your browser between visits so an enquiry can be joined to the pages you looked at first.
About 6 months
__hstc
HubSpot. Records your first and most recent visit and which site you came from.
About 6 months
__hssc
HubSpot. Counts the pages in your current visit.
30 minutes
__hssrc
HubSpot. Tells HubSpot whether this is a new visit.
Until you close the browser
_ga
Google Analytics. Counts visitors and reports which pages are read. Also set as _ga_ followed by a property code.
Up to 2 years
_fbp
Meta. Identifies your browser so Meta can report whether an advertisement led to an enquiry, and so we can avoid showing advertisements to people who have already enquired.
About 3 months

We also store the campaign tags from your arriving link in your browser's session storage, under names beginning e_. That is cleared when you close the tab and never leaves your browser except as part of an enquiry you choose to send.

This site runs the Meta pixel, a small piece of Meta's code that records which pages you open here and whether you send an enquiry, and reports that to Meta. We use it to measure which advertisements bring buyers to us and to stop showing advertisements to people who have already enquired. It sets the _fbp cookie listed above. Google and Meta may also set their own cookies on their own platforms before you reach us, and those are governed by their privacy policies rather than this one.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking them will not stop you using this site or sending us an enquiry.

If you are in the UK or the EEA and would rather we did not set analytics or advertising cookies, block them in your browser, or email us and we will tell you how.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of established suppliers to run the site and manage enquiries. They process your information on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

  • Webflow hosts this website and stores enquiry form submissions. Hosted in the United States.
  • HubSpot is our customer record system and provides the site analytics described above. Our HubSpot account stores its data in Australia.
  • Google Analytics reports how the site is used. Google processes this in the United States and elsewhere.
  • Meta, being Facebook and Instagram, receives the website activity described under Cookies, and receives your enquiry directly when you send it through a form inside a Facebook or Instagram advertisement rather than through this site. Meta processes this in the United States and elsewhere.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, and to our professional advisers, such as our solicitor or accountant, where they need it to act for us.

Sending information overseas

Because of the suppliers above, your information is held outside New Zealand. Under the Privacy Act we may only do this where the information will be protected by comparable safeguards, and we rely on our suppliers' contractual commitments for that. For UK and EEA visitors, those transfers are made under the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry for as long as we are dealing with it, and then for as long as we have a genuine reason to, such as an ongoing conversation about a later release or a legal or tax obligation connected to a sale. After that we delete it. The Privacy Act does not let us keep personal information for longer than we need it, and we do not.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and unless we are required to keep it we will.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • show you what personal information we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • delete your information
  • stop sending you marketing, at any time

If you are in the UK or the EEA you can also ask us to restrict how we use your information, object to us using it, send you a portable copy, and withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

How to make a request

Email james@eigl.co.nz and tell us what you want us to do. We will not charge you, and we do not need you to use a particular form.

We may ask you to confirm who you are, so that we do not give your information to somebody else. We will respond within 20 working days, which is the limit the Privacy Act sets. For UK and EEA requests the limit is one month, and we will meet whichever is sooner.

Keeping it safe

Our suppliers hold your information on access-controlled systems, and it is encrypted in transit between your browser and them. Only the people at Eden Group who need your enquiry in order to answer it can see it. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever put you at risk of serious harm we would notify you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the Privacy Act requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing.

If you are unhappy with us

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand at privacy.org.nz, or 0800 803 909.

If you are in the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA you may complain to the supervisory authority for the country you live in.
